Week- #67- Bringing Less Active Members Back Into Activity

November 2, 2015

Hey Family and Friends!!!

We still haven't heard much from Larry. He did respond back to a ward member's text and he is planning to be at church this Sunday because he should have saved up enough money to get a car. Hopefully we reestablish some contact with him.

We were able to teach Ruben and Jorge again. They live in the same trailer park and it just so happens that Ruben and Jorge are good friends. We taught them a lesson about the Book of Mormon.

We have been working with one of the members in our ward and his friend Fernando. We got an opportunity to get to know Fernando better as we raked his front yard with him. We hope to be able to continue teaching Fernando because he is a good guy!

Last week, we met Gary at a gas station.  We were able to meet up with Gary this week for dinner and a lesson. He took us to an Indian restaurant where we taught him about the Restoration.

On Sunday, we had 14 Spanish members attend church, the most that have ever showed up since I have been in Greenville. We have been working with the Canseco family who have come to church for the past three weeks. Hermano Espino has attended for the last two weeks and he got the Aaronic priesthood on Sunday!! We haven't had any investigators attend church lately but we have had success in bringing less active members back to activity.  We have seen many miracles!

I was reading in 1 Nephi 6:4 a few days ago where Nephi states his purpose in writing on the plates.  He says, "For the fullness of mine intent is that I may persuade men to come unto the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, and be saved." I love the Book of Mormon so much and I know that it blesses our lives.  Reading the Book of Mormon will help to guide us on the path back to our Heavenly Father.

I hope everyone has a great week!

Love, Elder Cannon
