Hi Family and Friends,
So I'm not sure why but my weekly letter seems to
be all about food. Maybe it’s because we ate food at member's houses every day
this week, which is a first since I've been here in Newport News. I'm also feeling pretty hungry right now.
One of the days this week, we received a call from
a less active member asking us to come over and eat with them at 3 p.m. We
already had a dinner appointment at 5 p.m., but we couldn't say no so we went
over and ate some super good Tacos Yucatecos. By the time we arrived to our
dinner appointment at 5 p.m., none of us were hungry at all, however we still ate
a big plate of Mangu (dish from Dominican Republic made of plantains). ‘Tis the
life of a Spanish missionary, haha.
The Mc Coy’s, who moved back to the English ward a
few weeks ago, invited us over to dinner on Sunday after church. We ate a bunch of hotdogs and
hamburgers.
It's pretty funny because some of the Spanish ward members
have been complaining to the Sister missionaries that they aren't eating
enough, because they aren't eating hardly anything compared to the Elders.
We had a really busy week this week. We passed my
record for the most lessons that I have taught in one week.
Miguelina told us in one of our lessons this week
that she knows the Book of Mormon is true, she just doesn't feel prepared to
get baptized yet. She and Leapoldo came to church yesterday.
We finally were able to teach Maria again. We reset
her with a baptismal date for May
28th.
Family, I'm
looking forward to skyping you this Sunday!
I hope that everyone has a great week. The church
is true!
Love, Elder Cannon
